Farmer Jack came to visit back in October. He looked at my paintings, looked at me and started talking about black tomatoes, the most beautiful tomatoes he has ever grown. Three days later, he had three of them for me to paint. Except they were not really black and I revelled in the shades of purple and vermillion. And that’s how I wanted to name the painting, until today, when I found out the name of the variety: Indigo Rose.
